Our UNITED STATES is a government that incarcerates a higher percentage of its citizens than any other on the planet.
Our STATE OF TEXAS is a government that tops the UNITED STATES, and every other government on the planet today, incarcerating a higher percentage of its citizens than any other.
HARRIS COUNTY is a government subunit of the STATE OF TEXAS that incarcerates a higher percentage of Texas Citizens living in the County of Harris, Texas, than any other in this State.
This is an indicator of government dysfunction. Our Constitution, for our US and for our Texas, express the intent to preserve Liberty and establish Justice. The indicators presented here reveal a government that operating in opposition to this intent.
DYSFUNCTION INDICATORS
It is easy to know when a privately owned, privately created, entity is not functioning as intended by its creators and owners. It’s revenues falls and it begins to lose, rather than make, a profit. It must then cut back on the number of people it employs to serve its customers.
But what about a Government Entity? HOW do people known when the Government on their Land has become dysfunctional? As a non-profit entity, with force to collect revenue, it can continue to grow while it is failing to serve the purpose for its creation and being.
INCARCERATION RATE
Around the world it is recognizes that the incarceration rate is the KEY indicator. When a government begins to incarcerate a very large percentage of the public it was created to serve, it is the single greatest indicator the government has turned against its purpose of providing Liberty and Justice, and become a dysfunctional self-serving entity. An entity serving those in the entity at the expense of those whose tax dollars support it.
If LAW was applied, as ORDERED by us, in our Constitutions, WE, the people of this Land of Texas, and of the United States, would NOT be suffering incarceration in such great numbers. Those of us who have not, yet, been the victim of a wrongful incarceration would not be suffering under the weight of the taxes expense of those who are, or have been, a victim. There is NO Law and Order when those who arrest us, prosecute us, and judge us, are ABOVE THE LAW. There is NO Law and Order when huge numbers are employed at the expense of taxes imposed on us, to compete among each other to see who can incarcerate more than their colleague as an “indicator” of their job performance. Or when disproportionate to a cruel and oppressive degree prison terms are inflicted for minor offenses are presented as an “indicator” of performance. An indicator of dysfunction on a massive scale is the result.
WHY THE SECRET?
One would think that major media would want the public to know. Certainly the public WANTS to KNOW when there is an indication the government they fund with their hard earned tax dollars is dysfunctional. The statistics from numerous reputable sources have been reported to the major media outlets. But for some reason the owners and editors of the major media refuses to mention it in newspapers or on TV news broadcasts.
