Required Oath of Office
for any one serving as Judge in Texas
Texas Constitution, Article 16;
"I, _______________________, do solemnly
swear (or affirm), that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office
of ___________________ of the State of Texas, and will to the best of my
ability preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws of the
United States and of this State, so help me God."
NOTE: Whether their Oath is on record
,or in a file, is immaterial. Whenever someone ACTS as a Judge, assuming the
duties of a Judge, the Oath becomes incumbent upon them as a Matter of
Constitutional Law and they are bound by it.
