Republican Philosophy on Crime & Punishment
Public Safety has always been used as a convenient cover for political and economic oppression. Those in power, historically and presently, use their nations' justice system to inflict injustice. They deceive their people by promoting as their excuse "public safety".
Through arbitrary application of the law they convict and imprison the innocent. The truth of their purpose is not public safety. Their purpose is oppression and plunder. Through the unequal, and arbitrary, application of the law they convict and imprison the innocent while allowing the guilty with wealth to go free. This oppression denies the lower, the middle class, and eventually even the upper class, the opportunity to exercise their political rights. It enables the plunder of all, particularly, the wealthy taxpayer.
Many have the mistaken view that the Republican Party is a party of the Aristocracy. This is a result of a misinterpretation of the Republican philosophy. The Republican Party has never been a party without passion for justice. The Republican Party has never been a party with a "Tuff on Crime" position. This is a misnomer.
Republicans promote Meritocracy not Aristocracy.
Republicans have always been a Conservative Party whose philosophy is FIRM APPLICATION OF THE RULE OF LAW. Which some have misinterpreted as a "tuff on crime", convict them all regardless of innocence or guilt, and send them all away to prison for as log as possible regardless of the expense to the taxpayers philosophy.
Republicans believe in the Constitution and believe it must be adhered to if we are to preserve it. Republicans know that only through the equitable application of the Rule of Law can a safe and orderly society, with respect for the law, be maintained.
A "tuff on crime" stance that promotes Judges as prosecutors, that seeks to elect whoever promises to convict the most for the longest sentence, regardless of their innocence or the application of the law, is a philosophy of Totalitarianism. This was the philosophy of Stalin and is in current practice in China and authoritarian dictatorships like Iraq.
If we do not require police, prosecutors, and Judges to follow the law in the regulation of Individuals we cannot expect government agencies to follow the law in the regulation of businesses. Our meritocracy will fail and our wealth will be put at risk.
The Republican Party has been infiltrated by those who intentionally misinterpret our "Rule of Law" philosophy as a "Tuff on Crime" philosophy. Many of these infiltrators are police, prosecutors, prison employees, judges, and even court appointed criminal defense attorneys, who live off the public dole. Their desire is to acquire more power with which to exercise the arbitrary application of the law. Giving them the power to arrest and/or convict an ever-increasing number of our citizens enables them to continue to plunder the taxpayer while remaining immune to punishment for their own violations.
The Inequality of our tax system insures that most of this expense will come from you, the wealthy Republican, who has acquired a business or assets through the application of your thrift, initiative, and hard work. The promotion of a totalitarian, police state, attitude within the Republican party increases the chances that the indirect plunder of your tax dollars will lead to the direct plunder of your wealth when you become the next person, or business, charged with a crime you did not commit.
The Truth is:
Republicans are not a "Tuff on Crime" party.
Republicans are Firm in their belief in the Rule of Law
And it's equitable application.
Contrary to the misconception of many, including some professed Republicans,
Republicans are NOT:
Promoters of an Aristocracy
Republicans ARE:
Promoters of a Meritocracy
Tuff on Crime NO,
Firm Application of the Rule of Law YES.
Equitably applied in accordance with both the US and the Texas Constitutions.
With a Passion for Justice.
This is the philosophy of a true Republican.
This is Conservatism consistent with the Heritage of both
Our US and our Texas Constitutions.
