WE, THE CITIZENS, DEPEND ON JUDGES FOR JUSTICE.
In all cases it is up to the Judge to insure the matters before the Court are handled in a fair and impartial manner. My experiences, and that of many others, prove most Judges in Harris County are extremly biased with little regard for fair and impartial hearings in their courts. An arrogant disregard for the Constitution and Laws is common practice. They have become mere tools of special interest groups who elected them. Their interest is not Justice but the Plunder of the taxpayers.
Our Criminal Court Judges have become mere puppets of those with an economic interest in plundering the taxpayers for more, and more, and more of our money. The by product is tragic. An ever larger percentage of our populace oppressed with a criminal record. Texas has the highest incarceration rate in the World. Harris County's incarceration rate is double that of the State! Yet other States and Nations with incarceration rates 1/10 ours have crime rates 1/10th ours !?!?!
Once charged with a criminal offense you quickly learn Harris County prosecutors have no interest in Justice. Their only interest is to "win" at any cost and my any means. The District Attorney's office has exerted tremendous influence to elect Judges who will make it easier for prosecutors to "win". Far too often they "win" but Justice is lost.
Much of today's crime is the result of innocent young people, convicted of a crime they did not commit, turning to crime to strike back at a society that allowed them to be placed into a horrible environment where their only association was with criminals (jail). The Prosecutor wins, the Court Appointed Defense attorney wins (his fee), the taxpaying citizens lose and become less secure as another criminal is made. Police win an increased need for their services.
Our Civil Court Judges have become puppets of Lawyers who use the taxpayer's (Our) Courts as a tool of extortion. Parents lose their children and the victor in civil disputes goes, not to the party with the just claim but, to the party that can pay the most. Often Judges insure that both sides to the dispute lose but lawyers for both sides win.
Our tax dollars pay for their playground.
