Citizenship is simply a designation that secures POLITICAL Rights.
POLITICAL Rights are distinct
from HUMAN Rights.
Human Rights exist independent of Political Rights.
Political Rights, such as the Right to Vote, help
to SECURE the Right of the
Human to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. But our Law in our Land
does NOT require a human person to be a citizen, that is - have political
rights, for the security of their Human Rights.
Political Rights are known as a PRIVILEGE. A child, at birth, may be a citizen, but the privilege of the Right to Vote does not come until the age determined by law.
In addition, a PRIVILEGE also imposes additional duties, obligations, and responsibilities on our government. Our Government must come to the aid of a citizen in a foreign land, if called upon, but has no such duty to a non-citizen.
But on our Land (50 States and territories under
our control) our government has a duty to honor the Rights of people, including
non-citizens, by complying with the Law of our Land that secures Human Rights.
