University of Houston, 1967 - Former Judge Harris County Criminal Court -  Former Municipal Court Judge, City of Houston Background Al Leal is a recognized leader in the greater Houston community. Al received the Willie Velasquez Excellence Award in 1990 and served on the City of Houston's Neighborhood to Standards Committee. Al is a former teacher, Vietnam Veteran and is active in youth programs including the Clear Lake High School PTA. Al is a native Houstonian and is married with 3 children.
